Drag and Drop Channel Ordering

stored in: Uncategorized and tagged:

Zingzing users now have complete control channel ordering and selection using the new options interface! The interface adds a number of cool features like custom package selection and drag-and-drop channel ordering to create your own personalized listings.

To access the new settings, click on the “Options” button at the top of the main Zingzing interface. Let me know what you think.

This is a really good feature – I just wish I could do the same on my Foxsat HDR EPG.

    Nice one, great feature!

Awesome! So much better than my Freesat EPG! Though, May I suggest a feature or two?

If you select a way of ordering (say, by channel number) and you then add some more channels, you have to go back up and click the “order by channel number” button again. Would it be possible to do this automatically? Also, you could have a feature to automatically add channels for a selected package (for example, Freeview got a new channel, it would automatically be added to the program guide).

Just a few ideas. Thanks for the great service ^_^

      – Really good idea, I will look into this.

Automatic adding channels will currently happen if you have not modified the presets (moved, removed or added etc) Some users might have problems with automatic adjustments to their package so maybe a reminder / dialog when new channels are available would do the trick?

I’ve updated the options screen and replaced the buttons with radio buttons that remember your ordering setting. Let me know what you think.

Ah! I’m liking it! I like how the “base set” becomes “My Channels” when you add/remove channels. Helps clear up any issues.
One thing that might need adding is explaining briefly what the “Default Order” preset does. I’ve noticed that this isn’t the channel number order, and is ordered by genre (at least, I think it orders by genre. Adding a few FreeView channels to the FreeSat listings seems to point towards genre ordering).

Other than that, awesome work! I wasn’t actually expecting my comments to get a reply, so it’s also awesome that you pay attention to people’s feedback! Thanks again ^_^
