Happy New Year! – IMDB & Facebook Links

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

I’ve been working on a number of changes to the guide (which are now live) on my rainy days away from the Beach this Christmas :-) .

1. IMDB Links – Movies only for the moment but really handy when you can’t decide which film to watch.

2. Links to official programme pages. I have to find and add these manually so it will be some time before I have a comprehensive database.

3. Facebook Share Link – I really want to push the social aspect of watching telly and think this is a good first step.

4. Obscured programmes on the grid now scroll into view when clicked, vertically as well as horizontally.

4. Bug fixes great and small + a couple of performance tweaks.

Let me know if you find any of these helpful or there are any problems.

Site Updates: New Forum, Grid and Theme

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

You may of noticed a few big changes to the site today.

New TV Forum – It’s going to take a lot of hard work to get this going but I think it is an essential bit of kit if the site is going to become a success. Please show your support by registering and posting your thoughts. Visit the forum here.

Programme Rollovers (Normal mode only) – The number one feature request makes it’s debut today. Makes browsing the grid even easier. Remember that you can still click through to shows for more information.

Color Changes – Not a biggie but I wanted the site to look a bit more neutral and increase the appeal to everyone.

Compact Grid – The grid can now display even more programmes, saves scrolling and time.

Navigation Tabs – Does what it says on the tin.

Let me know what you think, good or bad.

Satellite Channels and Keyboard Access

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

I have added a Satellite option under the channel options menu. This should start to cater for those of you out there with Sky. Because of the complexity of Sky’s packages, I have omitted options to specify your package for the moment while I figure out the best way of tackling it.

Also, and this is a really cool one… you can now control zingzing by using just your keyboard. Great when you are sat in front of the telly. Let me know what you think.

Checkout the new zingzing access keys.
