My new toy arrived in the post… and I’ve been busy moving Zingzing to the new hardware.

Quad Core Intel Xeon, 2.83GHz
4GB Memory
73GB, SAS, 15K RPM Hard Drive (Hot Plug)
SAS 6iR internal RAID Controller
Redundant Power Supply (Hot Plug)

This will really help with some of the more "expensive" features like related programmes and text based searching. Shame I can’t keep it in the house..

If you are reading this, then you are viewing zingzing on my brand spanking new server! There were a couple of small glitches when I switched the switch late last night. Hopefully these have all been cleared up but if you do experience a problem, please report it and I will get right to fixing it.

That is why I am making it even easier to let me know about any problems, concerns or suggestions you may have about the site. Simply click on the “Feedback” tab located at the top of every page and fill out the short questionnaire in the pop-up window. It couldn’t be easier.

It’s been a fantastic year for zingzing. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the support and feedback I have received. It really makes it worth it.

New years resolutions / goals for the site in 2009

1. Increase the popularity of the forum

2. Create a zingzing desktop widget

3. Create some great partnerships to bring in even more great content and information

4. Keep it simple and easy to use

OK, I’ve taken onboard a lot of of the feedback I’ve been receiving about the site design. On the whole, most of it is positive but there are some areas where it could be tightened up.

1. Getting rid of the round corners on the EPG. Bringing the interface flush to the edge of the page. This will help on smaller monitors as well as getting the whole thing looking a bit more slick, less bubbly.

2. Adding content back to the bottom of the page. Haven’t quite nailed down what I want to see here but things like top shows and blog entries would be great. I am really keen to see blogging used throughout the site.

Finally, I’ve been meaning to set up this blog for ages.
