It would be nice to be able to position my favourite viewing channels to the top of the lisiting so that they could be seen at start up. For example if I wanted to see Movies4Men and BBC1 on the same screen, that is currently not possible.
    Regards Roger

I was looking for he meanings of abbreviations in [] at the end of descriptions, but couldn’t find them.

I also noticed the incorrect use of the apostophe in the ‘Viewing Programme Details’ section. A possessive pronoun does not have an apostrophe, but you had “it’s details”, which is an abbreviation of “it is details”. “Its”, like “his”, does not have an apostrophe.

Thanks. I have added this to the help content above and will look into making it clear when on the grid what these are.

Can we filter the programs on the basis of availability of subtitles?

Is there a Zingzing iPhone or iPod Touch app?

  6. Michael says:

The default option for Region is “London” and the default option for Provider is “Freeview”.
I want them to read “Tyne” & “My Channels” but it keeps going back to the default.
    What am I doing wrong?

    • zingzing says:

      Hi Michael,

Unfortunately there was an error in the site that was causing this issue. I have now fixed it and you should now be able to set your channel preferences properly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  7. Adonis says:

Is it possible to create a listing for each channel with the channel on top…

    eg. BBCI BBC2
    programme programme
    programme programme
    programme programme

    etc.

    • zingzing says:

      Hell,

There is a print only option available that formats the listings like this on the bottom of the homepage. The normal grid does not support this yet.

  8. Tony says:

For some reason the settings I specify aren’t saved once I’ve left the site and returned later.
Any idea why please? (Incidentally I do take the save option!)

    • zingzing says:

      Hi,

If preferences are remembered when you press save but forgotten when you come back to the site, this is usually due to some anti virus or browsers clearing the zingzing cookie. Often this is done for privacy reasons and can be disabled.

If when you press save and the grid reverts immediately back to the default view, this can be a sign that cookies are disabled or your system date is set incorrectly.

In extremely rare circumstances, the zingzing cookie can go “wrong”. This link will reset it completely:

    Hi
Tried the link and unfortunately still doesn’t solve the problem.
When I’ve pressed save the channel list that I’ve selected doesn’t revert back to default but once I’ve come out of the website then go back in this is when the site goes back to default. Any other suggestions please?

    • zingzing says:

      Tony,

I have had a chance to look at my log files and know exactly why your preferences are resetting. The URL of the zingzing browser bookmark you are using has a parameter on it that automatically sets the channel preferences to “Freesat”. If you delete and recreate the bookmark, ensuring that the URL of the bookmark is “http://www.zingzing.co.uk/” your problem should fix its self.

This is an undocumented “feature” of the site that got out and was published everywhere. Unfortunately loads of people bookmarked and redistributed that URL.
