Series 75 · Detling 10

While the teams get into the rhythm of their shopping, host Danny Sebastian indulges one of his passions at an exhibition in London. The Music Is Black: A British Story celebrates 125 years of the influence of black music on culture and communities. At the V&A East Museum, Danny tours the exhibition with curator Jacqueline Springer, looking at a vinyl record with the words ‘Race Records’ on the sleeve, a label designed to segregate black music from white artists. There’s a piano belonging to the first black artist to have a UK number one single, Winifred Attwell, engraved with the names of her fans, a dress worn by Dame Shirley Bassey at the 2013 Academy Awards and a Banksy-designed vest worn by Stormzy at Glastonbury in 2019. Hoping to turn their items into auction hits are dad and daughter Erike and Melissa, and mum and daughter Angela and Katie. With hundreds of stalls to choose from, the teams go in search of profitable antiques with their experts, Irita Marriott and Jonathan Pratt. While the red team sizes up a vintage measuring tape, the blues check out a crackle-glazed pig sculpture. Then it’s off to auction in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, to try to sell their buys to...

Series 62-64 (Extended Versions) · Blackpool 19 and 20

Sink your teeth into a bumper edition from Blackpool. Danny Sebastian indulges his sweet tooth by seeing how Blackpool rock is made. He rolls up his sleeves as the distinctive pink food colouring is added to glucose and rolled on a machine until it’s ready for the words to be added. Can you guess what Danny’s stick of rock is going to spell? Across the seaside town, four teams of bargain hunters race around an antiques centre to find three profitable items each. Up first are colleagues Nikki and Bryan with expert Izzie Balmer, and friends Devina and Claire with Colin Young. Pretty soon the reds are reflecting on a wooden dressing table mirror, while the blues wonder if a reproduction hunting horn will hit the right note at the auction. While they wait, it’s the turn of mum and son Anita and Emilio, and brothers Brian and Kevin to canter around the centre. Izzie and her red team think about pouring their money into a vintage tea set, and the blues consider the appeal of an art deco looking glass. It’s a short trip to John Cook’s sale room in Lytham, where all four teams hope the bidders are in a generous mood - and for one duo there’s a very unexpected outcome!

Series 66 (Extended Versions) · Exeter 16 and 17

Christina Trevanion goes underground to explore medieval passageways beneath Exeter city centre. In the company of historian Professor Mark Stoyle, she learns how 425 metres of tunnels were built over water pipes to bring clean water to the city’s people in the 1300s. Above ground, four teams shop for treasures at a huge antiques fair on the outskirts of Exeter. The red teams are firefighters Steve and Andrew, and friends Tricia and Debbie, all skippered by expert Richard Madley. Their opponents in blue are sales assistants Jack and Shaun, and friends Tony and Danny, guided by expert Ben Cooper. A flock of geese decoys stops Steve and Andrew in their tracks, but the price is sky high, so they walk on by. Meanwhile, Tony and Danny spot a set of bagpipes, but it’s too much of a squeeze on their budget. With their shopping bags full, the teams travel to nearby Hele in north Devon, where auctioneer Adam Partridge is on the rostrum selling them to the highest bidder.
