Series 1 · Accra

For the second leg of his African adventure, Clive has arrived in Ghana. Sometimes called West Africa's 'golden child', the country is known for its deep history, miles of glittering beaches and rich culture. Clive’s first stop is the beachside capital of Accra, home to over two million people. It’s packed with vibrant art, bustling traditional markets and high-rise modernity. He heads to one of the world’s biggest second-hand markets to meet the designers giving discarded clothes a second chance. Inspired by his dressmaker mum, Clive tries a bit of sewing for himself. Once he’s kitted out with a great new look, he heads to the studio of Dancegod Lloyd to learn some moves from the man who turned traditional dance moves into viral hits and who starred in a Beyoncé video. Clive also picks up his paint brush to learn more about the unusual art of fantasy coffins, and he compares his mum’s Jamaican smoked fish with Ghana’s best as he meets the young chefs determined to turn Ghanaian cuisine into the next global trend.

Series 1 · Cape Coast

In the second leg of his Ghanaian adventure, Clive heads 80 miles from the capital city of Accra to the picturesque fishing ports of Cape Coast and Elmina, where he digs deep into his ancestral roots. He takes part in one of Ghana's most exciting tribal celebrations as he’s welcomed by the Fante people. He's given a new name by elders from the group, as well as a personalised Fante flag that celebrates both his West African and Jamaican roots. As part of this journey, Clive makes a difficult but moving visit to a former slave fort to discover some of what his ancestors went through. And, in a personal first, Clive gets to dance in a hip-hop video with rising star Kojo Vypa.
