Yr Wyddfa

How do you protect Britain’s busiest mountain when more than 600,000 people visit each year? Charlotte Smith and Joe Crowley head to Yr Wyddfa, Wales’s highest peak, to meet the people caring for its landscape and keeping visitors on the move. Joe joins volunteers tackling litter in some of the mountain’s hardest-to-reach gullies before discovering work to protect rare alpine plants and the elusive Snowdon beetle, found nowhere else in the UK. Meanwhile, Charlotte goes behind the scenes at Wales’s highest cafe to find out what it takes to keep visitors fed and watered at the summit. And Tom Heap investigates how organised crime gangs are targeting the countryside.
